At the Extra-ordinary Congress that was held on 31st August, it was unanimously agreed that some changes would have to be made so that, The Federation of offshore workers’ trade unions, OFS, could transform into, The Federation of oil workers trade unions within the Energy Sector, SAFE.

OFS has signed the agreement with the Norwegian oil industry association (OLF).
This year’s settlement is a midsettlement where the frame for what is negotiable has been determined in advance. It is therefore mainly circumstances tied to the wage level that is the basis of the negotiations.

BJ Services on strike
OFS and BJ Services ended negotiations without any results. The first strike in the history of the company in Norway is a fact. The strike started at midnight 2400 Tuesday 14th of June and includes 115 – 139 OFS members.

Will UK working conditions spread to the Norwegian Sector?
The Norwegian Confederation of Oil workers' Unions (OFS) and the Norwegian Shipowners' Association (NR) have been through the longest conflict in the history of Norwegian oil production.
